Politics Uncensored attended this year’s Labour Party Conference, engaging in critical discussions and networking with key party figures.
Host Ali Milani interviewed Dawn Butler candidly revealed her aspirations to become Mayor of London on stage at her annual Jamicain Party saying: "Sadiq [Khan] is not here this year for the first time in seven years, and I told him, but now I’m telling everyone—I’m after your job. I want to be Mayor of London."
Butler also reflected on her new book, "A Purposeful Life," which delves into her personal journey: ""It's the story of sort of my life, hurdles, how I've overcome it, and giving people tools that they can also use. It was like, If this is your situation, this is what might help you get out of that situation. And so it's very much a toolkit for life, I think. And it came about because I had some time, I was sick, I had cancer. And so whilst I was recovering from cancer, I just started writing and putting stuff down."
Ali also caught up with former England goal keeper David James who spoke about the benefits of getting children into sport: "The benefits of this are multiple, one mental health, physical health, social well -being. If we can improve this for people just by participating in football, then we're helping our society"
