The Discourse with Zoe Grunewald

Everyone thinks they're right on the internet. But what happens when someone actually challenges them?

FUBAR Radio is launching The Discourse, a new weekly political debate show that takes the arguments setting social media on fire and puts them to the test.

Hosted by political journalist and broadcaster Zoë Grünewald, the programme will bring opposing voices face to face to challenge the claims, confront the assumptions and cut through the outrage dominating online political debate.

Launching Wednesday 4 November at 2pm, The Discourse will look beyond the traditional Westminster news agenda to investigate the political arguments emerging on TikTok, X, Reddit and the wider social media landscape.

From immigration and housing to employment, the cost of living and government policy, the show will examine the issues dividing opinion online and ask whether the arguments actually stand up to scrutiny.

Each week, Grünewald will bring together two guests with opposing perspectives on one of the biggest political debates gaining traction online. Both sides will be challenged to defend their positions, interrogate the evidence and, crucially, acknowledge when the other side might have a point.

The objective isn't to generate more outrage. It's to find out who's actually making sense.

Alongside the main debate, the programme will dissect two further political stories circulating online, while a section in the show called Politics in Real Life will give listeners a voice, bringing their experiences and opinions directly into the conversation.
