Expert Explains How Students Can Make University More Affordable

Uni can be an stressful and challenging time before the discussions of fees.

That Money Show caught up with Tom Allingham from Save The Students to discuss making Uni more affordable.

Save the Student is a money website for everything student finance.

Tom talked about part-time jobs and how to get ahead of the rest of the students this term: "If you're listening right now and you're thinking, I'm going to need a part time job this year, I would say, apply now, because people are going into Freshers Week this week or next week, maybe. So you want to get in early, particularly with Christmas jobs and stuff like that."

He continued to say: "You want to get in early, get your application in, and hopefully you can secure a job other than that. You know, obviously traditional part time jobs can be a good source of income, but not necessarily always the most flexible. So I would encourage you to look to kind of more side hustle type things"
