Burnham’s rise isn't just luck; it’s a track record. His approach; delivering tangible results on housing, public health, and transport, is the exact antidote to the disconnect currently plaguing the Labour Party, which sits at a dismal 17% in projected national polling.  

• Housing: In 2015, Burnham slammed the block on council borrowing. Today, his track record in Greater Manchester, where rough sleeping plummeted by over 57%, proves he isn't just talking; he’s building.  

• The NHS: His solution for the social care crisis is a decade-old vision: fully integrating social care into the NHS to create a national health and care service.  

• Devolution: Burnham is the architect of "Manchesterism," a model that puts power in local hands rather than controlled from London. Expect this radical devolution to be the heartbeat of his premiership.

Burnham is the only declared candidate, with former rival Wes Streeting already folding his cards in support.
