Chatting to his co-host Ellen Coughlan on the showbiz programme Access All Areas, he opened up about his most recent attack: “I was on my way into Access All Areas, and I was in Stratford, broad daylight, and a gentleman. And we use that word very, very loosely, because although we're uncensored, I don't want to offend. So, let's just say called me a queer hunt with a C”
The 38-year-old TV star opened up about an attack that resulted in his hospitalisation: “I've never really spoken about this publicly, but it is documented, if anyone that thinks I'm just chatting shit. I was attacked twice in the last couple of years that they call gay bashing. I'm 38 but I feel some kind of shame when you got one of them geezers, literally knocking my veneers out my head and there's some veneers in there. Anyway, I laugh about it because I deal with things internally. It wasn't funny when I was in a hospital.”
Later in the episode, Bobby revealed that he was emotional reading messages from parents of individuals who faced homophobia: “I sat there and cried reading these messages of people that got physically abused, and from parents as well, because the kids are so embarrassed. And it’s hard, it doesn't matter how old you are”
He continued to call for Kier Starmer to address the issue of homophobia: “I'm not in politics, but someone's got to do something. And for anyone out there, whether it's your grandchildren, you your kids, your mate, just know, as long as I can, I've got fire in my belly if it takes me five weeks, five months, another five years, because to me, there's no point having this amazing platform profile and not doing good of it.”
